CosmoLex Doesn't Publish a Public API. Here's What Actually Connects To It.
CosmoLex doesn't offer a public developer API, OAuth access, or webhooks the way larger practice management platforms do. Its real integration surface is a set of native connections (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, NetDocuments, Box, LawPay, and email forwarding) plus a limited, fixed set of actions through Zapier. When something you need isn't covered by any of those, n-frames builds it directly against CosmoLex's own web interface instead, using browser automation rather than an API that doesn't exist.
What CosmoLex actually exposes
CosmoLex covers a lot of ground natively: it already connects to the common document storage providers (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, NetDocuments, Box), to LawPay for trust and invoice payments, and to email for forwarding and tagging messages to the right matter automatically. For plenty of firms, that's enough on its own.
Zapier covers a narrow, fixed set of actions. Through Zapier, CosmoLex supports creating a contact, event, matter, note, soft cost, task, or timecard, triggered from whatever else you run. That's genuinely useful for simple one-way handoffs, a new lead becomes a CosmoLex contact, a form submission becomes a matter, but it stops there. There's no general CosmoLex API behind it for anything more involved.
Beyond those predefined actions, there's nothing to call. No documented REST API, no OAuth flow, no webhook to subscribe to for changes happening inside CosmoLex. If what you need isn't a contact, event, matter, note, soft cost, task, or timecard creation, Zapier's integration can't reach it either.
That's where browser automation takes over. We build automation that works directly with CosmoLex's own web interface, the same screens a staff member would use, to do whatever the predefined actions don't cover: pulling data out for reporting, triggering something CosmoLex doesn't expose any other way, or keeping a second system in sync in both directions instead of just one.
What we build around CosmoLex's limits
Reporting CosmoLex doesn't export cleanly
Pulling matter, billing, and trust data out of CosmoLex into a report or dashboard your partners actually look at, built against the data directly instead of a manual monthly export.
Two-way sync Zapier's actions don't cover
Where a predefined Zapier action only moves data one direction, like creating a matter, we build the automation that keeps CosmoLex and another system in sync both ways, since there's no native API to do that through.
What are you still exporting out of CosmoLex by hand?
Tell us what you're pulling out manually or trying to connect CosmoLex to. We'll scope whether Zapier's actions cover it or it needs something built directly against the interface.
Hit a wall because CosmoLex doesn't have an API for what you need?
CosmoLex's own integration options stop at a handful of Zapier actions and a few native connections. When what you're trying to do falls outside creating a contact, matter, task, or timecard, there's no official way through, so we build it directly against CosmoLex's interface instead. If CosmoLex isn't actually where your team is stuck, the same browser-based approach works on whatever system is.
