Actionstep Runs Matters and Billing in One System. We Connect the Rest.

Actionstep is cloud-based legal practice management software: matters, billing, trust accounting, and documents live in one system, built for firms that want fewer separate tools rather than more. We don't sell or set up Actionstep. We build the integrations that connect it to the accounting, e-signature, or client-communication tools it doesn't natively replace.

What we build on top of Actionstep

Actionstep handles matter and billing data well inside its own walls. The gap shows up at the edges, when that data needs to reach a system Actionstep doesn't own: a firm's broader accounting platform for consolidated reporting, an e-signature tool for closing documents, or a website intake form that should create a new matter automatically instead of someone retyping a lead's details into Actionstep by hand.

We build that connective layer. An intake form submission becomes a new Actionstep matter with the client's details already attached, or a billing event in Actionstep triggers an update somewhere else that actually needs to know about it.

Where this shows up in practice

Intake form, matter created automatically

A new client fills out an intake form on the firm's website, and the matching matter opens in Actionstep with their details already filled in, instead of someone transcribing the form by hand.

What's still manual around your Actionstep workflow?

A billing handoff to a separate accounting system, a document step that still means printing something for a signature: tell us what it is and we'll look at what's actually possible.

Running Actionstep and still bridging gaps by hand?

Tell us what's not connected, a client intake step, a billing handoff, a document that still needs a manual signature round trip. And if Actionstep isn't actually where the friction lives, that's fine too. We look at whatever's manual in the firm, any tool, not just this one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Actionstep?+
Cloud-based legal practice management software: matter management, billing, trust accounting, and document handling in one platform, aimed at firms that want to run most of their practice from a single system rather than stitching several together.
Is Actionstep any good?+
It's a real, established option in legal practice management, generally reviewed well for how much it covers in one platform. We don't sell or implement it, so we're not the ones to give a vendor recommendation, but the firms we build integrations for run it without issue.
Where do I log into Actionstep?+
Through the login link your firm's administrator set up during onboarding, usually a firm-specific Actionstep URL. If you don't have it, your firm's Actionstep admin or IT contact is the right person to ask, not Actionstep support directly.
