FieldEdge Already Talks to QuickBooks. What About Everything Else?
FieldEdge runs dispatch, scheduling, and invoicing for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors, with a real-time two-way sync to QuickBooks built in natively. We pick up from there: the handoffs, alerts, and reporting that touch systems FieldEdge and QuickBooks were never going to connect on their own.
What we build on top of FieldEdge
Past the QuickBooks sync, not around it. FieldEdge pushing invoices and payments to QuickBooks is already solved; you don't need us for that. Where it stops is the next step: a job closing in FieldEdge automatically triggering a vendor bill approval for the parts used, or feeding a profitability report that blends FieldEdge labor data with QuickBooks overhead nobody's tracking job by job today.
Dispatch events that reach outside the board. A technician getting assigned or a job status changing on the dispatch board can do more than move a card. We wire those events to your own customer-messaging tool, a parts order to a supplier, or an update to whatever CRM tracks your maintenance-agreement customers.
A Flat Rate book that updates itself. FieldEdge's Flat Rate Mobile gives every tech the same price for the same job, which is the right idea, but someone still has to key in a price change when a supplier's cost moves. We connect the book to whatever actually drives your pricing, a supplier cost feed or a pricing spreadsheet, so it stays current without a manual edit pass.
Maintenance agreements that chase themselves. FieldEdge tracks which customers are on an agreement and when they're due. We build the reminder, scheduling, and renewal-invoice sequence around that list, instead of someone running the report and working it by hand every month.
What this looks like in practice
The sync, extended
FieldEdge and QuickBooks already talk. We build what uses that connection once the data's there.
- ■A closed job with parts used triggers a vendor bill check in QuickBooks instead of someone reconciling it at month-end
- ■Job profitability reports that combine FieldEdge labor and material costs with real QuickBooks overhead, by job type or by tech
- ■Overdue accounts flagged in QuickBooks automatically pause non-emergency scheduling for that customer in FieldEdge
Dispatch events, going somewhere
The dispatch board tracks status changes constantly. Most of that signal currently goes nowhere outside FieldEdge.
- ■Technician en-route and arrival statuses trigger real-time customer texts through your own messaging provider
- ■A job flagged 'needs part' creates a purchase order with your supplier automatically
- ■Maintenance agreement due dates generate the reminder call list two weeks out, not the morning it's already overdue
What's still manual between FieldEdge and the rest of your shop?
Tell us what a dispatcher, tech, or office admin is still doing by hand around a FieldEdge job, and we'll look at what's genuinely worth building.
Running FieldEdge and still patching the gaps with a spreadsheet?
Tell us specifically where a job's information stops moving on its own, between dispatch, the truck, and the office. That's usually a smaller, more specific fix than it sounds like from the inside. And if FieldEdge itself isn't where the real friction lives, that's fine too.
