Zoho Inventory

Zoho Inventory's API Runs on the Same Platform as the Rest of Zoho's Suite.

Zoho Inventory has its own REST API for items, orders, and stock data, built on the same Zoho API Console and OAuth setup used across the whole Zoho suite, CRM, Books, Analytics, and more. That shared foundation means credentials and patterns carry over if you're already integrating with another Zoho product, but the actual integration work, mapping fields, handling pagination, keeping tokens refreshed, still has to be built per connection.

One API console, every Zoho product

Every Zoho app, Inventory included, issues its OAuth client credentials through the same Zoho API Console, and the authentication flow works the same way whether you're calling Inventory, Books, CRM, or Analytics. The actual API documentation and available endpoints are separate per product though, so knowing how to call CRM's API doesn't automatically tell you Inventory's.

Rate limits and scopes are set per API, which matters once an integration is pulling from more than one Zoho product at a time. A business running Zoho Inventory alongside Zoho Books, for example, is often working against two separate APIs under one shared authentication setup, not one combined endpoint.

Where custom work actually starts

Zoho Inventory's native connectors cover Shopify, Amazon, and eBay out of the box. Anything beyond that, a specific report pulled into a BI tool, a custom app reading live stock levels, syncing with a non-Zoho accounting system, runs straight into the raw REST API, with real development work: OAuth setup, webhook handling for stock changes, and field mapping that matches how your business actually tracks data.

Webhooks are worth calling out specifically, since they're what make a near-real-time sync possible instead of polling the API repeatedly on a timer, hoping to catch a change shortly after it happens rather than the moment it does.

What We Build on Top of Zoho Inventory's API

Stock and order data flowing out to wherever you actually need it

We build the connection against Zoho Inventory's REST API to get stock levels, orders, or item data into a BI tool, a custom app, or another system, in a shape that tool actually expects.

One OAuth setup covering Zoho Inventory and the rest of your Zoho stack

If a business already runs Zoho Books or Zoho CRM alongside Inventory, we build integrations that take advantage of the shared authentication setup rather than treating each Zoho product as a separate problem to solve from scratch.

What's not reading or writing to Zoho Inventory yet?

A BI tool, a custom app, a system outside Zoho's suite: tell us what it is, and we'll map it against Zoho Inventory's API.

Trying to build against Zoho Inventory's API and not sure where to start?

Tell us what you're trying to read or write, and whether you're already integrating with another Zoho product, and we'll map out the fastest path. And if Zoho Inventory's API isn't actually where you're stuck, that's fine too, we build this kind of integration work against plenty of systems that aren't Zoho.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Zoho Inventory have an API?+
Yes, a REST API covering items, orders, and stock data, documented separately from Zoho's other product APIs even though authentication is shared across the suite.
Is Zoho API the same across all Zoho apps?+
The authentication setup is shared, one API Console issuing OAuth credentials for the whole suite, but each product, Inventory, CRM, Books, Analytics, and more, has its own separate API documentation, endpoints, and rate limits.
Do I need a developer to use Zoho Inventory's API?+
For anything beyond a basic read, yes. OAuth setup, pagination, and field mapping is real development work, which is the part we take on.
Where do I find my Zoho API key?+
Through the Zoho API Console, where you register an application and generate OAuth client credentials. Zoho moved away from older static API keys toward OAuth for most current integrations.
