Healow TeleVisits Runs Your Virtual Appointments. Does Anything Remind Patients to Actually Show Up?
Healow TeleVisits is the video-visit feature built into Healow, eClinicalWorks' patient-facing app, letting a patient join a scheduled appointment from their phone or a browser link instead of coming into the office. The provider schedules it in eClinicalWorks like any other visit, and the visit notes land back in the chart once it's done. What the feature doesn't do on its own is chase down the patient beforehand or tell billing the visit actually happened, which is exactly where we build on top of it.
How a Healow TeleVisit Actually Works
A provider's staff schedules the appointment as a telehealth visit inside eClinicalWorks the same way they'd schedule an in-person one. The patient gets a notification with a link to join through the Healow app or a browser, at the scheduled time, without a separate video account to set up ahead of time.
Once the visit happens, the provider documents it like any other encounter, and that record sits in the patient's eClinicalWorks chart alongside their in-person visits.
Where the Manual Work Still Sits
Patients who've never used Healow before don't always realize they need the app installed or the browser link ready ahead of time, and a chunk of no-shows on telehealth days trace back to that, not to the patient skipping the visit on purpose. Someone usually has to call and walk them through it after the fact.
On the billing side, a completed TeleVisit still needs the right telehealth billing code applied and, if your practice reconciles claims against a separate accounting system, someone's manually confirming the visit happened before that data moves anywhere else.
What We Build on Top of Healow TeleVisits
A reminder that actually gets patients into the visit
We set up a text or email reminder that goes out ahead of a scheduled TeleVisit with the join link already in hand, and a short nudge if the app still needs to be installed, so staff aren't the ones calling patients an hour before the visit.
Completed visits that flag themselves for billing
Once a TeleVisit is documented as complete in eClinicalWorks, we trigger the billing step automatically instead of someone running a report at the end of the week to catch visits that still need a claim filed.

Running Telehealth Through Healow and Still Chasing No-Shows by Phone?
Telehealth reminders and billing follow-up are one example of what gets missed when a feature runs well but nothing ties it to the rest of the practice. We build that connection for whatever part of your workflow is still manual, not just telehealth.
