Freshsales and Freshdesk Share a Login Page. Not Much Else.
Freshsales handles sales, Freshdesk handles support, and Freshworks sells a native integration between the two that surfaces each app's data as a sidebar inside the other. It shows a rep the other side's record. It doesn't move data, update anything, or trigger an action across the two. The connection is visual, not functional, which is exactly where most businesses running both products get stuck.
How Freshsales and Freshdesk connect out of the box
Freshworks' own integration between the two is mainly a visibility feature: once it's turned on, a sales rep working a deal in Freshsales can see that contact's open Freshdesk tickets in a sidebar, and a support agent in Freshdesk can see the related deal. It's a real convenience for a rep who wants context before a call.
What it doesn't do is act on that context. A support ticket closing doesn't update anything on the deal. A deal closing doesn't flag the account for support's attention. Both stay visible side by side, with no logic actually connecting them.
Where the two actually need to talk to each other
The businesses that feel this gap most are the ones where support activity should change how sales treats an account, a customer sitting on three open tickets probably isn't your best upsell target this week, or where a closed deal should kick off something on the support side, a welcome ticket, an onboarding checklist, a different support tier entirely.
What We Built on Top of Freshsales and Freshdesk
A services company running both products had reps who'd still ask support, informally, whether an account was a mess before trying to upsell it, since the sidebar showed open tickets but not whether those tickets were routine or serious. We built logic that reads ticket priority and age, not just count, and flags an account in Freshsales when support activity crosses a threshold that should change how sales approaches it, instead of a rep guessing based on a raw ticket count that doesn't tell the real story. On the other side, marking a deal Won in Freshsales now creates a Freshdesk ticket automatically, tagged for onboarding rather than general support, with the account's plan and contract details already attached, so a new customer's first interaction with support isn't them re-explaining what they bought. Neither direction existed before, even with the native integration turned on. It only ever showed both teams the same data side by side, without connecting the actions either team actually needed to take on it.
Running Freshsales and Freshdesk side by side and still bridging them yourself?
Tell us what should happen automatically between the two, a flag, a ticket, a status change, and we'll build it on top of the native sidebar instead of replacing it. If the pairing that actually needs this in your business is two different tools entirely, we build that version just as readily.
