Keap Connects to a Handful of Tools Natively. Yours Might Not Be One of Them.
Keap's app marketplace covers the common pairings: a scheduling tool here, an e-commerce platform there, a handful of the bigger-name apps businesses already run alongside it. Past that short list, connecting Keap to your accounting system, your support desk, or another CRM you're running side by side means building it against the API directly, which is what we do.
How people usually connect Keap to other tools
The marketplace route works fine when the pairing is common enough that someone already built and maintains the connector. For anything more specific, how Keap should actually talk to your accounting software, your support desk, or a payment processor it isn't natively watching, that's where a prebuilt app usually stops being an option.
Several of the real, repeated searches we see are exactly that: does Keap connect to Xero, does it talk to Zendesk, does it sync with Shopify, does it work with Recurly for subscription billing. None of those are native, out-of-the-box connections. All of them are buildable against Keap's API, which is the gap we fill.
What a custom Keap connection actually looks like
A Shopify order can create or update a Keap contact and fire the right follow-up campaign the moment it's placed, instead of a tag getting added by hand later. A payment or invoice status change in Xero can show up on the Keap contact record, so sales and support aren't asking accounting whether someone's actually paid. A subscription status change in Recurly can trigger the matching Keap campaign step, win-back, dunning, renewal, automatically rather than on a schedule someone has to remember to run.
We also see businesses running Keap alongside a second CRM like Pipedrive, usually during a team split or a slow migration between the two. In that case the work isn't a native sync, it's keeping the two systems close enough in step that nobody's working off stale data while the transition plays out.
Running Keap next to a tool it doesn't connect to out of the box?
Tell us which two systems aren't talking yet and what should happen when something changes in one of them. We'll map out what the API will actually support. Keap is just the system in front of you right now, the same build process applies to whatever else in your stack is still disconnected.
