What Mailchimp's Reports and Dashboards Actually Show You
Every sent campaign gets a built-in report, open rate, click rate, unsubscribes, and a per-contact breakdown of who did what, with an overview dashboard rolling several campaigns together. Google Analytics integration lets you tie email clicks to on-site behavior. None of it can report on revenue, margin, or fulfillment data that was never connected to Mailchimp in the first place.
What the native reports cover
A single campaign's report shows opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, and (for connected e-commerce stores) revenue attributed to that specific send, broken down to the individual contact level so you can see exactly who clicked what. Mailchimp also tracks a per-contact "member rating," a rough engagement score based on open and click history over time.
The main reporting dashboard aggregates performance across campaigns and over time, useful for spotting a trend (declining opens, a particular subject-line style that performs better) without digging into each campaign's report individually.
Connecting Google Analytics lets Mailchimp automatically tag outbound links with UTM parameters, so clicks from a campaign show up correctly in your site analytics as their own traffic source, rather than blending into generic referral or direct traffic.
What it can't show you
Mailchimp's revenue reporting only works for connected storefronts, and even then it's attributing revenue to a send, not giving you real margin, cost of goods, or whether that revenue actually came from a profitable order. Anything measured outside Mailchimp's own data, true customer lifetime value calculated from your accounting system, support ticket volume as a churn signal, doesn't exist in these reports until it's synced in.
Getting a report's underlying data out of Mailchimp on a recurring schedule (into a BI tool or a shared dashboard other teams actually look at) also has no fully native path beyond a manual export or the API. We build that handoff so the number that actually matters lands where the rest of your team already looks for it.
What that looks like built out
Email performance landing in the dashboard your team actually checks
Open, click, and revenue data pulled from the Mailchimp API feeds straight into your existing BI tool or shared dashboard, instead of living only inside Mailchimp's own reporting screen.
Revenue reporting that reflects real margin, not just gross sales
Cost of goods and fulfillment data from your actual systems combine with Mailchimp's attributed revenue, so a campaign's real profitability is visible, not just its top-line number.
What number is missing from your Mailchimp reports right now?
If it lives in another system, that's a sync we can build, not a Mailchimp limitation you're stuck with.
Checking Mailchimp's dashboard and a spreadsheet separately to get the real picture?
Tell us what number you're pulling manually to fill the gap, revenue, margin, support data, whatever it is. We'll look at getting it synced automatically into one place. Reporting is one example; n-frames automates whatever's manual, anywhere in your business.
