The ServiceTitan Dispatch Board Runs on Drag-and-Drop. Scale Breaks That.
The ServiceTitan dispatch board is the live, drag-and-drop schedule where a dispatcher assigns booked jobs to technicians by time slot, skill, and zone, with color-coded status updates as a job gets dispatched, started, and completed. Dispatch Pro is ServiceTitan's paid add-on for predictive capacity planning on top of that same board. Both get harder to run by hand the moment job volume or technician headcount grows past what one dispatcher can track in their head.
How the dispatch board actually works
Unassigned jobs sit in a pane on one side of the board, and technicians get their own rows or lanes across the day's timeline. A dispatcher drags a job onto a technician's row to assign it, and the board updates everyone's view in real time as jobs move from dispatched to en route to in progress to complete.
Dispatch Pro adds a layer on top of that manual process: it models technician capacity and skill tags against the day's booked jobs and suggests who should take what, instead of a dispatcher eyeballing the board and guessing. It's a genuine upgrade over the plain board for a business juggling more jobs than one person can track, but it's still working from what's already inside ServiceTitan. It doesn't know about anything happening outside the platform.
Technician skill tags and zone assignments live in ServiceTitan's own settings, so Dispatch Pro's suggestions are only as good as how current that setup actually is. A technician who just finished a new certification, or a zone boundary that changed last month, won't show up correctly until someone updates it by hand.
Where the board stops being enough on its own
A business that tracks technician certifications or licenses in a separate system, a training platform, a state licensing board's lookup, a union hall roster, has no way to get that data into ServiceTitan's skill tags automatically. Someone has to notice a new certification exists and update the tag by hand, or risk the board letting an uncertified technician take a job they shouldn't.
Jobs that run long cascade through the rest of the day's schedule, and ServiceTitan surfaces that on the board itself, but it doesn't reach outside ServiceTitan to update anything that depends on that day's plan, a fleet-tracking tool, a subcontractor's own calendar, a customer-facing ETA page your marketing team built separately.
What we build on top of the ServiceTitan dispatch board
Certification-aware skill tagging
When a technician's certification or license status changes in your training or licensing system, we push the matching update into their ServiceTitan skill tags automatically, so the dispatch board and Dispatch Pro's suggestions reflect who's actually qualified today, not who was qualified when someone last remembered to update it.
Dispatch data pushed to tools ServiceTitan never talks to
Technician assignments and real-time job status from the dispatch board feed into a fleet-tracking system, a subcontractor's outside calendar, or a customer-facing ETA tool, so those systems stay current without someone manually re-keying what the board already knows.
Still reassigning jobs by hand when something changes mid-day?
Tell us what triggers a reshuffle on your dispatch board, a technician calling out, a job running long, a rush service call, and we'll look at what can be automated around it.
Running ServiceTitan dispatch and still bridging it to other systems by hand?
Walk us through what the dispatch board doesn't know about right now, a licensing system, a fleet tool, a subcontractor's calendar, anything. We'll check what ServiceTitan's API actually exposes and build the connection. And if dispatch isn't your real bottleneck, that's fine too, we automate whatever's manual in your business, not just this one screen.
