ShipStation Doesn't Have a Native NetSuite Connector. Here's What Filling That Gap Takes.
Unlike Shopify or WooCommerce, ShipStation has no official, point-and-click NetSuite integration. Both platforms have solid APIs on their own, ShipStation's REST API and NetSuite's SuiteTalk and REST services, but nothing built in connects them to each other. Getting orders, shipping cost, and tracking moving between the two means building that bridge, or having someone build it for you.
Why there's no prebuilt connector here
ShipStation's native connectors exist for the storefront platforms most of its customers actually sell on: Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay, and a handful of others. NetSuite isn't a sales channel ShipStation pulls orders from; it's the ERP sitting behind the business, usually already holding its own picture of orders, inventory, and financials. That's a different kind of connection than a storefront plugin, which is why no official app covers it.
Some NetSuite customers reach for a general-purpose middleware tool to bridge the gap. That can work for simple field mapping, but shipping data has real edge cases: partial shipments, rate-shopped costs that vary order to order, multiple packages against one order. Generic middleware tends to handle the easy majority and leave the rest as a manual fix someone still does by hand.
What a real integration actually needs to do
The useful version pulls orders out of NetSuite, or wherever they originate, into ShipStation, and pushes back what ShipStation learns: tracking numbers, carrier, and crucially the real cost the carrier charged, landed against that order's actual cost in NetSuite. Done right, nobody's re-entering a tracking number by hand or estimating freight cost for the books weeks after the fact.
We build that against both platforms' real APIs: ShipStation's REST endpoints for orders and shipments, and NetSuite's SuiteTalk or RESTlet layer for whatever object the cost and status need to land on, a sales order, an item fulfillment, a custom record. No middleware subscription, no generic connector trying to cover every business's shipping setup with the same rules.
What we build between ShipStation and NetSuite
Order flow that doesn't require re-entry
Orders move from NetSuite into ShipStation once, and the resulting tracking and shipment status come back automatically, with nobody retyping anything in either system.
Real freight cost landing on the right NetSuite record
What the carrier actually charged on a ShipStation label becomes part of that order's landed cost in NetSuite, not an estimate updated once a quarter.
Running shipping through QuickBooks instead of NetSuite?
The same gap exists there. ShipStation doesn't have a deep native QuickBooks connection either, and we build that bridge the same way, against both platforms' real APIs.
Shipping through ShipStation with NetSuite or QuickBooks running the books?
Tell us which numbers aren't making it from ShipStation into your ERP or accounting system, cost, tracking, order status, or all three. We'll scope what it takes to connect them properly, and the same approach covers any other system in your stack that still depends on someone copying data over by hand.
