The Zendesk marketplace has an app for most common integrations. Most isn't all.
Zendesk's app marketplace has prebuilt apps and integrations for popular CRMs, project tools, and e-commerce platforms that you install into your agent interface without writing code. It covers the common cases well. When your specific setup, field mapping, or the other tool entirely isn't in the marketplace, that's what we build instead.
What the marketplace actually gives you
The Zendesk Marketplace lists apps for the agent sidebar (showing CRM or order data next to a ticket), full two-way integrations (syncing tickets with another system's records), and standalone utilities. There are listings for connecting with Salesforce, NetSuite, ServiceNow, Asana, Microsoft Teams, Airtable, and Slack, among many others, built either by Zendesk itself or by third-party partners.
Install one, authorize it, and in most cases you're looking at relevant data from the other system right inside a ticket within minutes. For common workflows (showing a Salesforce account record, pushing a new Zendesk customer into a CRM, posting ticket updates to a Slack channel) a marketplace app is usually the fastest path and the one worth trying first.
If you want something more custom but still want it to live inside Zendesk's own interface, the Zendesk Apps Framework (ZAF) lets you build a private app for just your account, with its own panel in the agent sidebar, without needing to publish it publicly.
Where the marketplace runs out
Marketplace apps are built for the general case, which means they usually sync the fields and workflows most businesses need and nothing more specific than that. The moment your business has a field mapping, a conditional sync rule, or a two-system handoff that doesn't match what the app author built, you're stuck configuring around a tool that wasn't designed for your exact setup, or giving up on part of it.
And some tools just don't have an app at all, especially smaller or industry-specific platforms. If the other system doesn't expose an API either, there's no marketplace app to even attempt, no matter how badly you need the two connected.
What we build on top of Zendesk integrations
A two-way sync a marketplace app only did half of
A business used Asana for engineering escalations, but the available app only pushed ticket data one direction, into Asana. We built the piece that also pulls the Asana task's status back into the original ticket, so the customer-facing side stays current automatically.
Connecting a system with no Zendesk app and no real API
A business ran an ERP with zero marketplace presence and only a handful of screens exposed through its own API. We built the direct integration for the parts the API covered, and automated the one order-status lookup screen it didn't through the browser, so the ticket still shows accurate status either way.
Need Zendesk connected to a tool the marketplace doesn't cover?
Tell us what the other system is and what needs to flow between the two. We'll tell you straight whether there's an existing app worth using or whether this needs something custom.
Found a gap between what the Zendesk marketplace offers and what your business actually needs?
That gap is common, most marketplace apps are built for the average case, not yours. We close it, whether the fix is a custom integration, a browser automation for a system with no API, or something in between, and that's true for whatever tool sits on the other end, not just the ones listed above.
