Freshdesk's Marketplace Covers the Common Pairings. Yours Might Not Be One of Them.
Freshdesk's Marketplace lists ready-made apps for Slack, Jira, Salesforce, HubSpot, WordPress, Microsoft Teams, and dozens more, most installable in a few clicks with no code. Where that stops is anything specific to how your business actually runs: a custom field that doesn't map to what the app expects, a workflow the app simply wasn't built to handle, or a tool that isn't on the list at all. That's where custom integration work against the Freshdesk API picks up.
What a Marketplace app actually does for you
The Slack app posts new tickets and updates into a channel and lets agents reply from Slack directly. The Jira app links a ticket to a Jira issue so a bug report doesn't need two separate trackers. Salesforce and HubSpot both have listed apps that sync contacts and show each system's record as a sidebar in the other, similar to how Freshworks' own Freshsales pairs with Freshdesk. WordPress and a few e-commerce platforms get a support widget embedded on the site itself.
All of these cover the common case well: get basic visibility and status syncing working fast, with no developer involved. None of them are built to handle business-specific logic, like syncing a custom field, triggering a Freshdesk ticket only under certain account conditions, or pushing a resolved ticket's outcome into a specific stage of a Salesforce pipeline instead of just updating a generic status field.
Where the Marketplace app stops being enough
The gap shows up fastest with Salesforce and HubSpot integrations specifically, since both apps are built for visibility (seeing one system's record inside the other) rather than acting on it. A support ticket closing doesn't change anything about the related deal or account record unless someone builds that logic separately. The same is true for Azure DevOps, Magento, and smaller platforms that either have a thinner Marketplace app or none at all, where the only real option is building directly against Freshdesk's API on one side and the other system's API on the other.
Where custom integration work picks up
Beyond contact sync, into actual logic
A deal closing in Salesforce or HubSpot doesn't just show up as a sidebar note in Freshdesk, it creates the right kind of ticket automatically, tagged for onboarding with the account's plan details already attached.
A tool with no Marketplace listing at all
A niche order system, an internal tool, or a platform the Marketplace simply doesn't cover yet still needs to stay in sync with support. We build the connection directly against both systems' APIs.
What are you still doing by hand between Freshdesk and another system?
A Marketplace app usually covers the first 80 percent. Tell us what's left over, and we'll scope what it would take to close it.
Running a Freshdesk Marketplace app and still bridging the rest yourself?
Tell us which system you've got connected to Freshdesk and what still doesn't update automatically. We'll map out whether that's a Marketplace setting nobody's turned on, or custom work the app was never going to cover. And if the manual step that's actually costing you time is somewhere else in your business, we build that too.
