Pipedrive Lead Scoring: What's Actually There, and What Isn't

Pipedrive doesn't ship a dedicated lead-scoring engine that ranks incoming leads by fit or intent. What it has is LeadBooster, a paid add-on for capturing new leads (a chatbot, live chat, web forms, and a prospecting tool called Prospector), plus a separate Leads Inbox where captured leads sit before anyone turns them into a deal. If you want leads actually ranked by something, company size, intent signals, past billing history, that ranking has to be built, not switched on.

What LeadBooster and the Leads Inbox actually do

LeadBooster bundles four tools aimed at getting new leads in the door: a chatbot and live chat widget for your website, web forms you can embed anywhere, and Prospector, a database for finding new B2B contacts that match criteria you set. None of the four rank a lead against another lead; they're built to capture, not to triage.

Once a lead comes in, through LeadBooster or any other source, it lands in the Leads Inbox rather than straight into a deal. That's a deliberate separation: a lead sits there as a lightly-qualified record until someone (or some automation) decides it's worth turning into an actual deal in the pipeline. Pipedrive calls that out explicitly, keeping unqualified leads out of your deal-stage reporting, but it doesn't do the deciding for you.

Where a real scoring model has to come from

A business that wants actual scoring, this lead is worth a call today, that one can wait, needs data Pipedrive's Leads Inbox was never built to hold: firmographic fit from a data provider, website or product engagement history, whether the company's already a customer with an open invoice. None of that lives in Pipedrive natively, so there's nothing in LeadBooster to point it at.

The practical fix is a scoring step that runs before or right alongside the Leads Inbox: pull in the outside signal, calculate a score against rules your sales team actually trusts, then either route the lead straight to the right rep or flag it for manual review. Pipedrive's open API makes writing that score back onto the lead or the resulting deal straightforward once the scoring logic itself exists.

What we build around Pipedrive lead capture

Scoring from data Pipedrive never sees

A score calculated from firmographic data, engagement history, or account status pulled from your billing system, attached to the lead before a rep ever opens the Leads Inbox.

Routing that skips the shared inbox

High-scoring leads go straight to the right rep or pipeline stage instead of sitting in a shared Leads Inbox until someone gets to them.

Capturing leads through Pipedrive but still working them in the order they arrived?

Tell us what actually makes one lead more urgent than another in your business, and we'll look at what it takes to score and route leads that way automatically. Pipedrive's lead capture is just one piece of this; the same scoring-and-routing work applies to any source your leads come through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Pipedrive have lead scoring?+
Not as a built-in feature. Pipedrive has LeadBooster (chatbot, live chat, web forms, and the Prospector contact-finding tool) for capturing leads, and a Leads Inbox for holding them before they become a deal, but nothing in either ranks leads against each other automatically.
What is Pipedrive LeadBooster?+
A paid add-on that bundles four lead-capture tools: a website chatbot, live chat, embeddable web forms, and Prospector, a database for finding new B2B contacts matching criteria you set. It gets leads in; it doesn't score or rank them.
What's the difference between a lead and a deal in Pipedrive?+
A lead sits in the Leads Inbox as a lightly-qualified contact or company that hasn't been confirmed as a real opportunity. Converting it into a deal moves it into the actual pipeline, where it's tracked through stages toward being won or lost.
What is Pipedrive Prospector?+
Part of the LeadBooster add-on: a searchable database of companies and contacts you can filter by industry, size, and other criteria to find net-new leads, rather than waiting for them to come in through a form or chat.
Is LeadBooster included free with Pipedrive, or is it extra?+
LeadBooster is a paid add-on available on top of any Pipedrive plan, not a feature bundled into the base price. Current add-on pricing is worth checking on pipedrive.com, since plan and add-on pricing both shift over time.
