Smartsheet

Smartsheet Ships Connectors for the Platforms It Chose. We Build the Rest on Its API.

Smartsheet comes with several native integration tools: Bridge by Smartsheet for visual workflow orchestration across systems, dedicated Connectors for platforms like Jira, Salesforce, and Microsoft's suite, and Data Shuttle for scheduled bulk import and export. They cover a real and useful set of named platforms. Anything outside that set means building on Smartsheet's own API instead.

What Smartsheet ships with

Bridge is Smartsheet's own visual tool for building multi-step workflows that reach across systems, triggered by something in a sheet and capable of calling out to connected services as part of the flow.

The named Connectors, for Jira, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, ServiceNow, and a few others, map specific fields between Smartsheet and that platform without custom code, as long as your setup matches what the connector was built to handle.

Data Shuttle handles the more mechanical side: scheduled imports and exports moving bulk data in or out of a sheet on a recurring basis.

Where the packaged connectors run out

Each connector was built for a specific set of fields and a specific set of use cases in that platform. A business running a less common setup, or needing a field mapping the connector doesn't support, runs into its edges quickly.

And for anything that isn't on Smartsheet's named-connector list at all, an internal tool, a smaller or newer SaaS platform, there's no packaged option. That's API work from the start.

Where this shows up in practice

A Bridge workflow extended past its reach

When a Bridge workflow needs to touch a system that doesn't have a built-in connection, we build that step on the API so the workflow keeps running end to end.

A connector rebuilt once a team outgrows it

When the Jira or Salesforce connector's field mapping stops matching what a team actually needs, we rebuild that same logic directly on the API, without the packaged version's limits.

Smartsheet's packaged connectors get you most of the way there, and no further?

Tell us where the gap actually is, a field it doesn't map, a system it doesn't cover at all, and we'll build it on the API. Smartsheet's connectors are a genuinely solid starting point; the real win is almost always in the specific piece they don't quite reach.
