Xero Has a Real App Marketplace. It Still Doesn't Cover Everything You Run.
Xero's App Store lists hundreds of prebuilt connectors for CRMs, e-commerce platforms, point-of-sale systems, and payroll tools, and a genuine third-party app called Breadwinner specifically handles Salesforce-to-Xero sync. For the big, popular pairings, a prebuilt connector is usually the right starting point. The gap shows up with a niche CRM, an industry-specific tool, or a workflow that needs more than the connector's default field mapping, and that's the part we build.
How people usually connect Xero to other systems
For common pairings, start with Xero's own App Marketplace. If you're running Salesforce and need deal data flowing into Xero as invoices and contacts, Breadwinner is a real, established connector built specifically for that pair. Slack, Gmail, and a handful of CRMs also have genuine listed integrations, usually built around the common case: a new invoice, a new contact, a payment landing.
Where the marketplace runs out of road is custom field mapping, multi-step logic (an order only becomes an invoice once it passes a specific status, say), or a system that simply doesn't have a listed Xero app at all, which is common with niche CRMs, industry-specific job management tools, and anything built in-house. At that point the realistic options are a general-purpose automation tool stretched past what it's really built for, or a direct integration built against Xero's own API for exactly what you need.
Where off-the-shelf connectors stop being enough
A prebuilt connector is built for the average customer's workflow, not yours specifically. It'll sync a new contact or a paid invoice fine, but it usually can't apply your specific tax logic, route different deal types to different Xero accounts, or hold off creating an invoice until a condition elsewhere in your process is met. Those gaps are exactly where a generic connector turns into a manual workaround again, just with extra steps.
We build the version that matches how your business actually works instead of the generic default: the right account coding, the right timing, the right handling for the deal types that don't fit the standard pattern.
What we build on top of Xero integrations
Custom-mapped CRM-to-Xero sync
When Breadwinner or a similar connector covers Salesforce but your CRM is something less common (or your field mapping needs are too specific for a generic app), we build the sync directly against both systems' APIs.
E-commerce and point-of-sale feeds with real tax logic
Orders and sales land in Xero already coded to the right accounts and tax rates for your actual business, not the generic defaults a prebuilt connector ships with.
Running a tool that doesn't have a listed Xero app at all?
Tell us what it is and what needs to move between the two, and we'll tell you honestly whether a direct build makes sense.
Outgrown what Xero's App Marketplace can actually do for you?
Tell us which system isn't talking to Xero the way your business actually needs it to, and we'll scope a direct integration. Xero is one piece of a bigger puzzle for most businesses we work with, so if the real gap is somewhere else entirely, bring that instead.
