Pipedrive Reporting: What Insights Shows, and What It Doesn't

Pipedrive's reporting tool, called Insights, builds dashboards and reports from deals, activities, and revenue data already inside Pipedrive, with goal tracking and forecasting layered on top. It's a genuinely solid view of your pipeline and nothing past it. Here's what that actually covers.

What Pipedrive Insights actually reports on

Insights can build reports on deal progression, win rates, activity volume by rep, and revenue forecasts, all pulled straight from data Pipedrive already has. Dashboards combine several reports into one view, and goals let a manager track a team or individual against a target over time, win count, deal value, or activities completed.

For a sales leader who wants to know how the pipeline is actually moving, this is enough on its own, and it doesn't require exporting anything or wiring up a separate BI tool.

Where reporting needs data Pipedrive doesn't have

The limit shows up the moment a report needs to combine pipeline data with something Pipedrive doesn't track: actual revenue recognized in accounting versus deal value logged at close, support ticket volume against account health, or marketing spend against the deals it produced. Insights can't reach any of that, because it's reporting on Pipedrive's own data, not your business's.

That's usually a sign the report belongs in a dashboard that pulls from more than one system, built against the Pipedrive API alongside whatever else holds the rest of the picture, rather than something squeezed into Pipedrive's own reporting tool.

What we build past native Pipedrive reporting

Cross-system dashboards

Pipeline data from Pipedrive combined with real revenue from accounting, or support ticket volume from your help desk, landed in one dashboard instead of three browser tabs someone checks separately.

Reports that update themselves

Instead of exporting Pipedrive data and reshaping it in a spreadsheet every week, we build a pipeline that pulls it automatically and keeps the report current without anyone touching it.

What's the report you keep rebuilding by hand?

If it pulls from more than one system, tell us which ones, and we'll look at what it takes to automate it.

Spending time every week turning Pipedrive data into a report by hand?

Tell us what the report needs to show and where the rest of that data actually lives. We'll build it to pull automatically through the Pipedrive API, and the same goes for any other reporting headache in your business, not just this one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I export Pipedrive reports to Excel?+
Yes, Insights supports exporting reports, which covers a one-off need fine. For anything that needs to happen on a recurring schedule, an automated pull through the API is the more reliable fix than someone remembering to export it every week.
Does Pipedrive have custom reporting?+
Yes, Insights lets you build custom reports and dashboards from the fields and data Pipedrive already tracks, including custom fields you've added. It can't report on data that lives outside Pipedrive entirely.
Can Pipedrive connect to a BI tool like Looker or Power BI?+
Not natively. Getting Pipedrive data into an external BI tool means pulling it through the API first, usually alongside data from other systems, which is exactly the kind of integration work that makes a cross-system dashboard possible.
What is Pipedrive Insights?+
Pipedrive's built-in name for its reporting and dashboard feature: reports, dashboards, goals, and forecasting, all built from data already inside your Pipedrive account.
